Question, director Nick Cassavetes approves of incest, shocking stupidity or personal sickness

Director of the dramedy Yellow, Nick Cassavetes has recently been quoted as not only being okay with incest, but approving of incest.

Who gives a s**t if people judge you? I’m not saying this is an absolute but in a way, if you’re not having kids — who gives a damn? Love who you want. Isn’t that what we say? Gay marriage — love who you want?

If it’s your brother or sister it’s super-weird, but if you look at it, you’re not hurting anybody … except every single person who freaks out because you’re in love with one another.

Perhaps the liberal, gay mafia (politically liberal groups that champion what they see as “fair” & attack any little thing that they deem to be bigoted) won’t be appreciating this man’s comparison of the historical taboo (atrocity, abomination, stupidity) to issues of gay marriage.  But don’t count on it.  As long as the offender is sympathetic & smiling, they don’t mind & will just ignore it all.

But the issue here isn’t about anything else but Cassavetes’ complete & unadulterated ignorance.  Whether he’s thought this all through, is debatable.  He’s not necessarily a big name or even a small name.  Though his father, John Cassavetes of the film Rosemary’s Baby (he played the husband of Mia Farrow’s character), who died of cirrhosis of the liver in ’89, at the age of 59; was a big name & a favorite of mine  I would assume that his candidness is something he’s instantly regretting.  I would hope that this doesn’t cast a pall over his father’s good name.

The taboo has naturally been in place from time immemorial for many, many reasons.  Chief among them being unacceptable infant mortality & mutation.  It’s a concept that is sickening to any rational group of people, worldwide & through the ages.  There is no defense of it, it cannot be excused & people who are supportive of it really do need to be excommunicated from society.  Let’s hope this happens to a man who is now (irretrievably) revealed as a sick pig.

I, for one, will be purposefully ignoring Nick Cassavetes, as well as anything he does from now on out.  One would hope that he hasn’t revealed his opinion on this social horror, just to make a name for himself, since he’s already forgettable.

What a horrible topic!  I’m so sorry for even bringing this to your attention.
