Wolf Creek 2, with John Jarratt, Ryan Corr, Shannon Ashlyn & Philippe Klaus. Director, Greg Mclean. Simple & to the point is good. The point being just how much fun a psychotic, serial killer is to watch.
The thing that I like about Jarratt, in this movie, is that he puts his all in his portrayal of a crazy. Someone that you wouldn’t give a second glance at the market. There’s a particular soullessness that he exudes, when doing what his character likes to do best, that is bewitching & almost friendly in nature. I think that only true brilliance & talent can pull this off, convincingly.
This horror in the desert movie is smooth & well done. With just the right amount of gore & plenty of horrific surprises & suspicious moments when one doesn’t really know who to trust. It’s all dusty & hot. Uncomfortable. The perfect setting for pain.
I recommend this film, on its merits & sleekness. It’s a no-frill ride.
