As a Conservative, I really haven’t made up my mind about any of the US Republican candidates but I’ve been leaning towards Ted Cruz (@tedcruz) with an open mind to the others, except Jeb Bush who I find totally repugnant & unacceptable. But when I hear that Donald Trump (@realDonaldTrump) is now insulting viable candidate Carly Fiorina’s (@CarlyFiorina) appearance, just because she’s not gorgeous; I find it a big turn off. Rob Quinn writes in a Rolling Stone cover story,
…Writer Paul Solotaroff says Trump made fun of GOP rival Carly Fiorina’s looks when she appeared on TV news, saying, “Look at that face! Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president.” Solotaroff says Trump added, “I mean, she’s a woman, and I’m not s’posedta say bad things, but really, folks, come on. Are we serious?”…
I may, or may not, require someone that I’m going to marry, be intimate with or otherwise court to look & act a certain way; but, I do not require my friends, associates or politicians to be beautiful. It’s just shallow & juvenile to do so. It bespeaks a personality that I want & need to avoid. I have been willing to put up with incendiary & necessary rhetoric coming from Trump but really, this is too much. If I don’t hear that a retraction or apology has happened I’m going to be lumping The Donald in the Jeb Bush basket of people that I refuse to vote for as nominee or president.
I understand that Trump is fighting inch by inch & is using a technique to take down each rival by hook or crook. However; there is no honor in attacking someone just because they don’t look like a Ken Doll or Miss Universe. It’s not as if Trump is handsome or doesn’t have an extremely odd hairstyle. I question his judgment skills in this matter.
