I prefer consistency & find it refreshing.
I haven’t been a pro-Cruz Conservative right from the beginning. I still have issues with his birth in Canada with one US parent & I’ve heard all the arguments for & against that. But that’s irrelevant at this time, after so many questions about John McCain & Obama’s eligibility, when they ran, lost & won.
Originally, I thought he was a clown car Texas performer, marching back & forth on a stage during the ’08 Republican convention. But I’ve come to appreciate his performance as a senator championing the fundamental values of our Republic.
Remarkedly, no one but the Establishment Republicans (doesn’t matter what the Left thought) really jittered in their boots when he stalled parts of the government to make a very important point. It didn’t & doesn’t matter what independents say (they usually vote for the Left by unthinking default) & it doesn’t matter a wit what the Democrats say. No one was hurt, he made his point & made his name & has been (again) consistently conservative in a way that makes the Establishment look like communist F-ups.
