President Trump promised to repeal Obamacare. I’m not sure whether he always said, during the 2016 campaign, that he was going to replace it with something else right away.
But, his base of supporters who jumped on the Trump train right away were basically from the Tea Party Movement & we all know what their main goal was – to secure fiscal sanity & to get rid of Obamacare which forces Americans to buy health insurance. Forces people, in a free nation to buy a commercial product. Originally enabled by a Supreme Court decision wrangled by a supposed conservative Chief Justice Roberts. Forced down the throats by a formerly, fully Democratic Party dominated US Congress. Without a single Republican voting for the abomination.
With the Republicans in control of Congress & President Trump in the White House, where are we today with the repeal of Obamacare? I receive White House emails, none of which detail what’s in the Republican Congressional plan for the repeal & replacement of it all. No focus on the immediate problem of repeal.
I’m not sure why we’re not doing a full repeal & then worrying about the replacement. After all, anyone that wishes government to provide healthcare didn’t vote for President Trump, nor are they Republican! So, why bother worrying about their concerns. I’m hoping that the president makes his base happy by fulfilling this vital promise first. Why not just enable Medicare & Medicaid to take up the slack for those without healthcare? Here’s hoping that Obamacare didn’t ruin those two vital social programs, in the first place.
